I've recently gotten reallyyy into old school 90210 episodes which may or may not have started with SOAPnet..and then led me to renting the first season on Netflix.

I love re-discovering old shows, especially ones I was too young to appreciate at the time. And naturally, I keep spotting so many 'trends' that are here right now, in all their 90s glory..

Kelly's outfit was pretty badass in this scene and Brenda's jeans were almost carbon copies of ones I own!

New York City on acid

Acid denim wash jacket with the words 'New York' and the city skyline spray painted, then bedazzled.
I wanted to buy this jacket off her back.

I followed this glorious woman for a few minutes, trying to get this picture.
It still doesn't do the jacket any justice and I felt like a major creepster...but it had to be captured.

P.S. I'm wearing shorts out tonight with bare legs...I love this weekend already!

I started getting into Lucky magazine a couple of years ago. I had originally cast it off as a mere picture book amongst novels, preferring to subscribe to magazines with articles about more than the newest beauty regimes or whether or not someone likes the outfit they're wearing that day (Sidenote: I still really despise the 'Does This Outfit Work?' blurb).

However, what Lucky lacks in depth they certainly make up for in straight up, panty dropping visual stimulation. I can barely get through 1/4 of an issue without wanting...well, everything.



This month's issue (with Elizabeth Bank's on the cover) is no different. I read every magazine from back to front (no explanation exists) and the write up on Ideeen, a fresh new line from two designers who met while working at Catherine Malandrino, left me wanting more...

I returned home for Easter weekend and was met with a pile of magazines..
....and a serious need for this skirt:





It is from Larsen Gray and made entirely out of friendship bracelets!
Amaze. Too bad it's 400 bananas.

(The Buddy Bands idea was totally rockin', BTW. And I most definitely bought a sequin bra reminiscent of Jessie's today at Urban)

Peplum-itis

Last night I finally entered the threshold of the Holy Grail that is..Topshop!
For once, there wasn't a line (although we did go less than an hour before they closed) and the foot traffic wasn't claustrophobic or overwhelming. What I was not expecting is how overwhelming the selection would be - my brain simply could not handle it all!

We did a full loop of the store and several covetable items were mentally noted for a further, financially stable future purchase. One particular trend that stuck out most notably, though was the peplum skirt. The array is not yet represented in the web site's selection but the store was simply bursting with peplum-itis (in all prints and colors!)!!

The popping up of the peplum was something I also noticed earlier in the day, as I was rooting through Etsy for some fun sellers/stores to favorite and return to and that is when I came across I'm Your Present. Chock-full of bows, kittens and cottons in the cutesy wootsy ice cream color pallette I so enjoy - this shop has been hit hard with peplum-itis and..I kinda love it. Peplums are poppin' on dresses and skirts in this shop and while my frugal heart will most likely scour thrift shops for my own version, I couldn't help but 'aww' over the version below, which comes in a variety of fabrics to choose from!
